Peter W. Mantell
Business Owner & Managing Partner
Peter founded Independent Consulting Associates (ICA) in 1997 to assist
entrepreneurs, small and mid-size business owners develop a sound
strategic focus and planning framework. The goal was to improve their
organizational strengths and business processes resulting in growth and
profitability for the longer term. Peter spent thirty-four years with Exxon Mobil
Corporation in marketing, program and project development, and business
communication. Peter has been a past member of the New York State
Industrial Management Council, the American Petroleum Institute, and the
Houston Ad Club. Professionally, he has been an advisor to the Board of
Directors of the Exxon Independent Marketers Insurance Trust (Dallas, TX),
AICE Corporation (Houston, TX), and the VCMG Marketing Group
(Birmingham, AL). Peter holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of
Rochester, Rochester, NY.
Judith A. (Judy) Mantell

Judy has been involved in the field of communication for over thirty years. She has
served as Director of Business and Professional Communication and Instructor at
the University of Hartford, and as an adjunct professor at the University of
Connecticut in the Graduate School of Business, MBA Program. As president of
Executive Communication Services between 1979-1996, Judy and her company
provided independent consulting and recruiting services, seminars and workshops
in the field of business communication for both large and small businesses. Major
clients included Aetna Life & Casualty, CIGNA, American Shoe Company, and
Westledge Real Estate Corporation. She received her B.S. degree from University
of Hartford and a Masters Degree from Trinity College, Hartford, CT.
William C. (Bill) Boyd, Esq.

Bill is currently the senior and managing partner of the Houston-based law firm of
Patterson, Boyd & Lowery, P.C. Bill has been a prominent and well-respected
member of Houston’s legal community for over thirty years, and has assisted many
small and mid-sized business owners and stakeholders in such areas as franchise
law, contracts, partnering agreements, and litigation issues. His professional
expertise and demeanor is well respected by his peers, and by the many clients he
has assisted and served throughout his legal career. Bill holds a law degree from

foundations. He has also been a partner in several investment firms, working with
both investment and commercial banks. Moreover, he specializes in portfolio
management, financial planning, and business valuation. Gene is a Chartered
Financial Analyst (CFA), and has a degree in economics and mathematics from
the University of Colorado, and holds a trust degree from the School of Banking
from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.
